Difference Filters

1. What types of differences does Text Inspection detect?

Text Inspection detects the following types of differences for live text content:

What does Select All do in Difference Filters?

It selects all the difference filters.

What does Clear All do in Difference Filters?

It removes all the difference-filter selections.

What does Restore Defaults do in Difference Filters?

It restores the difference-filter selection back to the defaults, as set by the administrator. The defaults are: Case, Change, Deletion, Hyphen, Insertion, Location, and Space.

What happens when I select Soft Hyphen in Difference Filters?

A soft hyphen is used in word processing to divide a word when it appears at the end of a line. Soft-hyphen differences can cause many undesired differences to show up in the report. By default, Text Inspection ignores soft-hyphen differences during an inspection to minimize the total number reported. To include them in your inspection, check the Soft Hyphen option under Difference Filters.

What happens when I select Line Break (Space) in Difference Filters?

End-of-line space differences could cause many undesired differences to show up in the inspection report. By default, Text Inspection ignores end-of-line spaces during the inspection to minimize the number of differences reported. To include end-of-line space differences in your inspection, check the Line Break (Space) option under Difference Filters.

Minimum Font Size

What does Minimum Font size do? How do I change the Minimum Font Size?

Text Inspection is installed with a default Minimum Font size of 0.1, which means it reports any font size that falls below this value as a difference. To change the Minimum Font size value, enter one in the corresponding field located at the bottom of Difference Filters. The value must be between 0 and 99.0, inclusive. All font sizes found below the value specified is found as a difference.

How do I know if any of the font sizes in my Sample falls below the Minimum Font size value?

As you navigate through the inspection results, if a font size falls below the Minimum Font value, "Min Font Size" displays above the Report panel and the associated text is highlighted in the Change Grid.

In the PDF report, the number of times the Minimum Font size is detected displays at the top. The Inspection Details section lists Type = Min Font Size, size of the detected font, and the associated text.

Languages

Languages allows you to select the inspection logic to use for your files based on the language of your files. Select the required language (i.e. Asian for documents written in Asian languages, Right-to-left for files written in languages that are read from right to left).

Inspect Multi-Page Documents

Multiple pages can be inspected on both Master and Sample Files by choosing the following:

Is there a maximum number of pages for documents?

There is no limit to the number of pages in a document that can be loaded. However, the report may not be generated if it takes longer than 30 minutes.

How do I navigate through the pages in a multi-page Master?

Click Previous Page < and Next Page > on the Master toolbar.

How do I navigate through the pages in a multi-page Sample?
