After a text inspection is run, the Inspection panel appears. Differences between the Master and Sample files can be viewed and reviewed, with the ability to assign levels and comments to each difference.

1. Navigating differences

Click the Previous or Next arrow to navigate between differences, each of which will be highlighted in both panels upon being selected.

2. Assigning levels

Click on the Level drop-down list once a difference is selected to access the pre-defined options and select one.

3. Assigning comments

Click on the Comment drop-down list once a difference is selected to access the pre-defined options and select one. Type in the text box to create a custom comment.

4. Navigating between pages

Click the Previous Page or Next Page arrow when applicable to navigate between pages in the Master or Report panels.

5. Ignoring/ skipping differences

If you want to skip multiple occurrences of the same difference, navigate to the first occurrence of the difference and click Ignore/ SkipAll above the Inspection panel.

Text Inspection automatically sets the level to "Ignore" and comment to "Reviewed" for all occurrences. As you navigate through the differences, Text Inspection skips over these duplicates.

6. Resynching differences

Resync removes undesired differences from inspection results. It removes a difference from the Difference List if there is an identical match between the Master and Sample. You cannot undo it and will need to rerun the inspection to restore the results.

To resync a difference, navigate to an undesired difference, click Select Text on the Master toolbar, and select the text in the Master panel.

Click Select Text on the Report toolbar and select the text there. Click Resync. If the selected text is identical in the Master and Report panels, Text Inspection removes the difference from the Difference List and renumbers it. If the selection is not identical, Text Inspection does not remove it, but classifies it as a Change-type difference, regardless of its original classification.

Resync does not apply to Font-type differences.

7. Accessing the Difference List

Click on the Difference List icon to maximize it and view all differences at once. The navigation functionalities are ported over to the Difference List, while any changes made while in the Difference List will automatically carry over to the Inspection panel once it's closed.

Difference types (1) are displayed to the left of the differences themselves (2), as they appear in the Master and Sample panels. Clicking the Filter (6) icon launches the Filter window, where users can uncheck difference types that appear in the Difference List for a streamlined review process.

Levels (3) and comments (4) can be assigned by clicking on the applicable drop-down list. Click the Previous or Next arrows (5) to navigate between differences, each of which will display in the Inspection panel once selected.

Use Resync (7) when an undesired difference is selected in the List. It will either be removed it if is identical in both panels or reclassified as a Change-type difference if it isn't.

8. Taking advantage of the Change Grid

The Change Grid appears above the Report panel and it displays character changes (highlighted in yellow) for the difference that is currently selected.

Hover over a specific character to see its Unicode value. Navigating through the inspection results will automatically refresh the Change Grid with new differences.
